It’s time to don your feathers and sequins as Antigua and Barbuda are actively preparing for the annual extravaganza that is the Antigua Carnival.

Taking place from 28 July to 7 August, the Antigua Carnival was created to celebrate the country’s emancipation from slavery in 1834 and is the ideal opportunity for locals and visitors alike to embrace the local culture and past traditions.Highlights include the Opening Of Carnival Parade & Tee- Shirt Mas on 28 July which announces the start of the Carnival with a parade comprising of colourfully decorated Carnival floats, led by a Grand Marshall, majorettes and t-shirt revellers jumping through the streets of St. John’s to the tune of soca music.
