Payne somehow managed to escape his bandmates. Of course, the getaway was all about a woman and it seems Payne knows a lot about romance as he whisked his girlfriend away for a week of bliss in one of the Caribbean’s most exclusive private island hideaways...

Payne brought his girlfriend of six months, Sophia Smith, to the Caribbean as an early birthday present. Any woman would be jealous! In fact, I’m jealous and I’m a man!

It seems the loved-up teenagers have jetted off to Peter Island, an exclusive hideaway popular amongst the likes of Hollywood legends Robert DeNiro and Kurt Russell to name but a few.

Liam and his girlfriend were seen frolicking in some of the islands spectacular pool facilities. In fact, Payne posted a couple of “selfies” as well as a few romantic posts of Sophia and the singing star lounging around their private plunge pool and generally soaking up the sun in style.

Falcon’s Nest Villa – one of the island’s most luxurious abodes -- is where it was discovered they were staying.

The One Direction boys seem to be big fans of the BVI, with Liam’s fellow Directioner, Harry Styles, once enjoying a hedonistic holiday on Necker Island, directly after his dramatic split from singing star Taylor Swift.
