A new era of luxury yachting emerges as Rossinavi and designer Yves Béhar unveil SOLSEA, a 43-meter hybrid-electric catamaran that combines cutting-edge AI technology with sustainable design.

A Visionary Collaboration

Unveiled at Design Miami 2024, SOLSEA represents a three-year collaboration between Italian shipyard Rossinavi and renowned designer Yves Béhar. This partnership has resulted in a superyacht that seamlessly blends advanced technology with eco-conscious luxury.

“For me, Solsea is a return to simpler, more respectful ways to enjoy the oceans while integrating the future of efficient propulsion and cutting-edge technologies.”
— Yves Béhar

Intelligent Luxury

At the heart of SOLSEA lies Rossinavi’s proprietary AI system, designed to enhance the onboard experience by learning and adapting to guests’ preferences. This intelligent system monitors operations, optimizes energy consumption, and interacts with crew members to promote sustainable practices, ensuring a personalized and eco-friendly journey.

Sustainable Design

SOLSEA’s commitment to sustainability is evident in its construction and materials. The yacht features an eco-displacement hull for improved hydrodynamic efficiency, reducing emissions and noise. Materials such as cork flooring from Amorim and textiles made from 100% ocean plastic underscore the vessel’s eco-conscious ethos. Solar panels are seamlessly integrated into shading structures, maximizing renewable energy use without compromising design aesthetics.

Innovative Features

  • Hydraulic Rear Platform: A full-width hydraulic door transforms into a spacious platform for water sports and activities, enhancing the yacht’s versatility.

  • Owner’s Cabin: Spanning 70 square meters, the owner’s suite offers panoramic 180-degree ocean views and direct access to a private balcony that connects both hulls.

  • Lounge Pool: Located on the main deck, the lounge pool features a retractable hard-top supported by sculptural frames, allowing for uninterrupted enjoyment during navigation.

  • Elevated Sundeck Bar: An architectural highlight, the sundeck includes a bar integrated into a curved design that flows into a raised lounge area, providing panoramic sea views and a skylight that opens to the breeze.

Performance and Efficiency

SOLSEA is engineered for various navigational scenarios:

  • Day Trips: Operates 100% on electric power.

  • Multi-Day Journeys: Maintains 90% electric operation.

  • Transatlantic Crossings: Achieves 80% electric propulsion.

The yacht can be fully recharged from shore power in just five hours. When docked, it enters “hibernation mode,” minimizing energy consumption and even supplying power back to the quay or a private property.

A Glimpse into the Future

While SOLSEA remains a concept, it embodies the future of sustainable luxury yachting. By integrating advanced AI technology with eco-friendly design, Rossinavi and Yves Béhar have set a new benchmark for innovation in the maritime industry.

“Now, following the success of the first catamaran equipped with artificial intelligence, we’re thrilled to unveil Solsea, a fresh reinterpretation of this cutting-edge naval technology.”
— Federico Rossi, Chief Operating Officer, Rossinavi
