At the 48th Annual General Meeting of Reliance Industries, Chairman Mukesh Ambani brought global tech titans Sundar Pichai (CEO of Google) and Mark Zuckerberg (CEO of Meta) together for a landmark announcement: the launch of Reliance Intelligence, an AI powerhouse born from bold partnerships, and the promise of superintelligence for India.
Ambani’s Vision: AI for Every Indian
Ambani declared that just as “digital everywhere” transformed India through Jio, Reliance Intelligence aims to usher in an even greater wave—“AI everywhere for every Indian.” The new subsidiary focuses on building gigawatt-scale, AI-ready data centers powered by renewable energy, to train talent and deploy AI solutions at a national scale.
Meta + Reliance: Democratizing Superintelligence
Meta and Reliance have formed a joint venture, with Meta bringing its open-source Llama models and Reliance providing unmatched scale. With a ₹855 crore (~$100 million) capital investment in a 70:30 ratio, the collaboration aims to deliver enterprise-grade AI tools—from cloud-based systems to on-prem and dedicated infrastructure—for businesses across India. Zuckerberg described it as a path toward “personal superintelligence for everyone.”
Google + Reliance: Building the Digital Backbone
Google will partner with Reliance to deliver AI across sectors—energy, retail, telecom, and finance—by launching a dedicated Google Cloud region in Jamnagar, powered entirely by Reliance’s clean energy and connected via the Jio network. This will support not just Reliance’s business ecosystem but also bolster AI access for Indian enterprises at large.
